Despite the constant activity in his family home, Anton Chekhov, the renowned Russian playwright and master of the short story, managed to produce an extraordinary amount of work while sitting at his dining room table, surrounded by family members and boarders. Despite the continuous buzz of conversation and interruptions, he wrote 120 articles, stories, and sketches.
