I committed to keep a journal about my sugarless life. I’ve been a sporadic journal keeper since taking Kelly Morgan’s Creative Life Classes a few years ago. It’s one thing to write stream of conscious pages quite another to write about a specific thing. Stream of conscious writing helps the brain shift focus, lowers stress, and bolsters my mood enabling me to start the day with purpose verses heebie-jeebies.
Doing journal homework included a trip to Dr. Oz’s to learn more about the type of sugar addict I had become. There are four types including “Feed Me Now or I will Kill You”. Connect to the article here.
What I discovered were four basic sugar deterrents that foster creative well-being:
Get regular rest to feel awake. Stay off the energy drinks.
Exercise daily. Go outside take a walk.
Eat right and regularly, increase protein, and water.
Mentally switch from crisis thinking to calm (if you are not in imminent danger, your doing okay)
